"Announcing the New Frontier"

Los Angeles, CA July 1960

Kennedy's acceptance speech of his party's nomination for President July 15 at the Los Angeles Coliseum introduced the new frontier for the first time. The 100,000-capacity stadium was packed. His entire family was there except for Jackie who was back in Hyannis Port pregnant with John John and his father Joseph P. Kennedy, who had decided to remain inconspicuous and watch the proceedings from the home of Henry Luce, the publisher and editor-in-chief of Time-Life.
